Choosing the right cover.
To me, it has to fit with the subject. That seems pretty simple and obvious from anyone’s perspective. As I write and continue to develop more flow and feeling throughout the chapters and paragraphs, I would write down key notes that stand out more in the novel I am writing and say, '“Wow, that really brings me thinking more about this than that,” and I would make it a note in my sketchbook. Today was more of exploring designs and techniques with both pencil illustration and inking, along with ink washing.
Another thing to keep in mind is to remember what style, technique, and perspective you are using in the form and medium you choose. Say you are creating a new music album and you want to see how a cover, representing the music, would feel and look about it. You could try acrylic paint, pastel smearing, or photography based around another medium like ceramics, welding, etc, you will see that how you perceive your imagery towards the subject can affect you, along with the person you are showing.
